Wrapping up the 2025 RBD Block Challenge

Today is the DAY! We are wrapping up the 2025 RBD Block Challenge. This has been such a fun 5 months sewing with you all and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we have. Even though today is the last day of the sew along, remember that all the patterns and instructions will stay up forever to give you all the time you need to keep working on your quilt.

Part of our finishing instructions include the very center block. It’s a quick finish block that ties the design together perfectly. We are so in love with our completed quilt! Chelsea Fitzgerald of @cuddleupquilts did our quilting and it couldn’t be more perfect.

A big thanks goes out to all of the fabulous designers who helped bring this quilt to life, to all of the quilt shops who provided kits, and to all of YOU for making this such a fun community event every year.

We want this sew along to just keep getting bigger and better! We hope that you will join the FB Group and check out our featured post section to find a place to comment any feedback you have from this year.

Remember, this quilt is YOURS! If you don’t love our final layout, feel free to arrange your blocks however you want. The Facebook Group is a wonderful place to find some inspiration and share ideas.

If you are behind and need to find a specific block be sure to click below for all the previous weeks of this sew along.

Until next year!!

I love these sewalongs but if I could make one suggestion. I’m one who purchases the fabric kits as it’s a little too much for my brain to figure out what fabric to pair with another.

I love the Expressions Batiks but when picking borders I think it would be more stunning to have a darker or deeper fabric for the borders. This is my 2nd RBD Block challenge and I just think the quilts look a little washed out with the borders selected for the batiks. I realize I could substitute something else, but that’s the purpose of buying a kit in my opinion.

    Thank you.
