Combining two new batik collections, Kelly @bykell Combining two new batik collections, Kelly @bykellyrenay is back on the blog with her twist on the Classic String Quilt! 💛⁠ ⁠ Inspired by Mary Ellen Hopkins’ Hidden Wells pattern, Kelly worked with 2″ wide strips from both the Porcelains and Wildflowers collections. Porcelains is a lovely low-volume mix of tonals: subtle, soft, and versatile. Wildflowers, on the other hand, feels like two collections in one: a cool, mauvy side and a warm, golden side. Toni @tigertextiles used our new Shibori Batiks to Toni @tigertextiles used our new Shibori Batiks to craft this beautiful Boro Boro Shirt! 👚⁠ ⁠ Boro is a Japanese textile tradition born of thrift and care—old cloth repaired again and again with visible stitching, patching, and layering. Scraps of fabric are transformed into something stronger, more beautiful, and deeply personal. Toni used this technique, along with a now-discontinued Butterick Pattern to build this shirt. Balancing variation with cohesion, this Patchwork Balancing variation with cohesion, this Patchwork Duffle was the perfect canvas for Tamara @remivailstudio to play with our new Plaid-Venture Club collection! 💙⁠ ⁠ For this project, Tamara challenged herself to use as many prints as possible while still allowing the eye places to rest. To help anchor the patchwork, she repeated fabrics thoughtfully and chose coordinating prints for the handles and binding. She adapted the Patchwork Duffle pattern by Knot and Thread for this project, adjusting the size just a bit, along with the patchwork layout and handles. ⁠ ⁠ You can find a link to the original pattern along with Tamara's sewing details on our blog! This colorful delight is the Merriweather Quilt by This colorful delight is the Merriweather Quilt by Mary @embercraftcompany! 🎨⁠ ⁠ The Merriweather Quilt Pattern is Mary's take on a classic cross and crown quilt block. She blew it up in size, made it fat quarter-friendly, and added some dazzling sashing! To go along with the quilt, Mary made the Jasper Dress by Little Lizard King for her daughter. This dress is easily a family favorite with it's epic twirl factor!⁠ ⁠ Both of these projects were made with the new Farmer's Daughter collection by Lori Holt.
