The Free Solstice Sampler is here! -

Looking for a fun quilting project to take you from fall through the holiday season? The Solstice Sampler is back! Hosted by Amber Elliot of Alderwood Studio, this free annual sew-along brings together a group of talented quilt designers to create a beautiful sampler quilt, one block at a time!

Running from October through December, the Solstice Sampler features nine unique quilt blocks, each designed by a different guest designer. A new pattern is released each week, giving you plenty of time to sew along, try new techniques, and watch your quilt come together. Whether you’re an experienced quilter or looking to expand your skills, this is a great opportunity to explore different approaches to quilt design and enjoy a little creative time during this busy season!

A Sampler Made with Confetti Cottons

For this year’s sample quilt, we used Riley Blake Designs Confetti Cottons solids. The range of beautiful solid colors makes it easy to create contrast and highlight the unique details of each block. From geometric shapes to intricate piecing, the Confetti Cottons fabrics give every design a chance to shine while bringing the entire quilt together into one cohesive project!

Solid fabrics are especially fun for sampler quilts because they let you experiment with color placement and see how different blocks work together. The Confetti Cottons palette offers so many possibilities, whether you want to recreate the sample or choose your own favorite combination of colors!

The finished sample quilt was beautifully quilted by Jenn B Quilts, whose quilting adds another layer of detail and texture to the finished design.
