Always in Season – “SEW HAPPY” Wall hanging
Have you ever seen a fabric collection and it instantly made you “sew” happy? That’s how I felt when I saw the beautiful Always in Season fabric collection by American Jane. The fabric line is vibrant, playful and very happy.
This colorful fabric collection is ideal for adding extra cheer to any space. For years I have had the Fat Quarter Shop’s free Sew Happy pattern on my bucket list and this collection was a perfect fit!
This fabric collection was especially fun to sew with because of the variety of small, medium and large size designs and the mix of floral and geometric prints.
For the letters, I used mostly small and medium sized prints and fussy cut the tiny dots from the large scale prints for the red “p” and blue “!”.
The large scaled floral print is an amazing for borders. The collection has the large scale florals in white, red and blue and it was hard to pick which one to use- they all look great. The prints would also be awesome for a backing of a quilt.
For the sewing machine block, I fussy cut the inside of the rose because it reminded me of thread wound around a bobbin. It’s a small detail but one that makes me smile 🙂
I’m so excited to get this quilted and hung in my sewing space! It will be a cheerful reminder of how much joy quilting brings me, especially when I have a seam ripper in hand, lol.
Happy sewing!!
