We are so excited and honored to be featured as a Riley Blake Designs Shop Stop! Sew Quilty is located in rural Arlington, Minnesota, and while you might have to travel a little farther to find us, we promise—that’s part of the adventure.

Sew Quilty

When we dreamed about the future of Sew Quilty, we knew we wanted to create something bigger than a quilt shop. We envisioned a destination where quilters could come for the fabric, but stay for the experience—a place to shop, sew, retreat, enjoy a cup of coffee, laugh with friends, and leave feeling a little more inspired than when they arrived.

That dream has grown into our new Sew Quilty home, bringing together three spaces we love: Sew Quilty quilt store, Sew Quilty Hideaway (retreat center), and Sew Quilty Cafe.

Come for the Fabric

At the heart of it all is our quilt shop. With more than 6,000 square feet of fabric, kits, patterns, notions, samples and inspiration, there is plenty to explore.

We love creating a shop that feels bright, welcoming and approachable—whether you have been quilting for 40 years or are picking out fabric for your very first project. Throughout the store, you’ll find finished quilts and samples paired with kits, making it easy to find something that inspires you and take everything you need home to make it.

Riley Blake Designs has become an important part of our shop because their collections fit so beautifully with what our customers love: wonderful color, playful prints and collections that make you want to start a new project before you’ve finished the last one!

Stay for a While

Just steps away from the quilt shop is Sew Quilty Hideaway,our retreat center created specifically with quilters in mind.

The Hideaway sleeps up to 20 guests in 10 bedrooms. Our spacious sewing room gives every guest their own sewing table, adjustable height cutting tables, design walls, ironing stations and room to spread out.

But the best part of a retreat isn’t really the tables or the sewing space. It’s the gathering. It’s staying up later than you planned because everyone is laughing. It’s walking around the room to see what your friends are making. It’s helping someone choose a border, celebrating a finished quilt, sharing meals together and having uninterrupted time to create.

We designed Sew Quilty Hideaway to make those moments possible.

And There’s Coffee!

Because we decided that fabric, friends and coffee belong together, Sew Quilty Cafe completes the experience.

Our café is designed to be another gathering place—a spot to grab a handcrafted coffee or tea, enjoy a treat or something to eat, and sit down for a visit. Retreat guests can wander over for a little “sewing fuel,” shoppers can take a break before heading home, and our local community can stop in simply because they want a good cup of coffee and a friendly place to enjoy it.

For us, the Cafe isn’t separate from Sew Quilty. It’s another piece of what we hope people feel when they visit: Come in. Stay awhile. You’re welcome here.

More Than a Quilt Shop

Sew Quilty is surrounded by Minnesota farmland, and we love becoming a destination for quilters from both near and far. We want a trip to Sew Quilty to be something you look forward to. Because quilting has never been only about fabric and thread. It’s about the friend sitting across the sewing table. It’s the stories told while choosing fabric, the laughter during a retreat, the encouragement when a project isn’t cooperating, and the excitement of holding up that finished quilt for everyone to see.
