Summer’s in Town with Cloverly Quilt

Hello, Friends! It’s Sandy from Thai Charm here. These quiet winter days have had me craving color in my sewing room. When everything outside feels gray and still, I start reaching for fabrics that feel alive. That is what drew me to Summer in Town by Sandy Gervais. The reds, blues, oranges, and yellows feel like little bursts of sunshine, and sewing with them instantly shifted the mood in my space.

Choosing Cloverly for Florals

I chose the Cloverly quilt from Cozy Quilts for the Modern Home because its repeating shapes give prints room to breathe. The design has a steady rhythm that keeps everything feeling structured, while the florals bring softness and movement. One of my favorite parts was watching the fabrics rotate from block to block. The larger blooms had space to shine, and the smaller prints added texture and depth. The mix of scale in Summer in Town works beautifully in this layout, creating interest without feeling busy.

Letting the Prints Pop

To really let the colors stand out, I paired the collection with Confetti Cotton in Teddy Bear for the background. Instead of a crisp white, Teddy Bear brings warmth and depth. It allows the reds, blues, oranges, and yellows to glow without feeling stark.

That soft brown neutral grounds the quilt and defines each block while keeping the overall look cozy and inviting. Sewing this quilt felt like stitching a little bit of spring ahead of time. The balance of bold florals and a warm neutral background created something modern, but still welcoming. Sometimes all it takes is the right fabric pull to change the whole feeling of a season.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this Cloverly Quilt come together in Summer in Town. If you make a project using Summer in Town, I’d love to see it. Be sure to tag @RileyBlakeDesigns and use #SummerinTownFabric so we can admire your beautiful work.
