Sister Stars Quilt in Penelope

Blue and white quilts have always been a favorite of mine, and this one might just be at the top of the list. I made this quilt using the Sister Stars pattern from Warm River Quilt Co. (pattern coming soon) and the Penelope fabric line, and I couldn’t love it more.

The Sister Stars pattern has such a simple charm to it, but it really lets the fabric shine. I especially love how the patchwork star shows off all the different Penelope prints—ginghams, florals, little ditsy patterns—it’s such a pretty mix without feeling too busy. The cream background keeps it light and fresh, and the pieced stripes give it that extra bit of detail that makes the whole quilt feel polished.

The quilting turned out beautiful. The soft, all-over loops gave it that perfect crinkly texture that makes a quilt instantly cozy. As soon as I pulled it out of the dryer, it felt like one of those quilts you just want to curl up with and never put away.

The Penelope fabric line is such a dream to sew with. The quilt came together so beautifully because the prints play so well with each other. This quilt will be perfect for—on the couch, outside for a picnic, or folded at the end of a bed. Sweet, simple, and timeless—that’s how I’d describe both Sister Stars and Penelope, and together they make such a lovely quilt.

And honestly, this one’s a keeper!
