Meet the Ram Doll: A Whimsical Stitching Project with Created With Love Fabric
Hello friends! This is Jennifer Long from Sew A Story. I’m a doll and quilt pattern designer, and I love creating fabric characters that help bring stories to life. Today I’m sharing one of my favorite projects made with my Created With Love fabric collection for Riley Blake Designs.
The Ram Doll is a friendly, soft character made using in-the-hoop machine embroidery. From the spiral horns to the tiny overalls, every detail is designed to help you slow down, create something meaningful, and enjoy the process.

This pattern includes three stitchable sizes (14″, 16″, and 18″) and works with most embroidery machines using a 5×7, 6×10, or 8×12 hoop. The doll is stitched in sections, then stuffed and assembled to form a complete keepsake. It’s a beautiful way to combine embroidery and simple sewing.

Here are the fabrics I used:
- C15976-SUNSHINE Showered with Love – Body
- C15973-SUNSHINE Light & Dark – Overall Pocket
- C605-CHOCOLATE Shabby – Horns
- C15970-GRASS Main – Overall Shorts and Bib
- C605-CHESTNUT Shabby – Arms, Tail, Ears, Head, and Legs
All of these prints are part of the Created With Love fabric collection, which is full of rich textures and meaningful motifs that support storytelling and play.

Why make a project like this?
Projects like the Ram Doll give us something more than just a finish. They offer time to practice patience, build a skill, and reflect on the joy of handmade gifts. Stitching the same curve more than once or stuffing a shape just right becomes a rhythm that is both creative and calming.

This particular doll also creates space for storytelling. Whether you’re giving the Ram Doll to a child or adding it to your seasonal decor, it’s a character that invites conversation and connection.
I can’t wait to see what you create.
Yours in crafting together,
Jennifer Long
