Cozy Bebe – Front Porch Quilt

Hi, Tamara here from Remi Vail Studio. I’m thrilled to share my project featuring the Cozy Bebe fabric collection designed by Simple Simon and Co for Riley Blake Designs. This soft, dreamy collection was the perfect match for a modern baby quilt. I chose the Front Porch Quilt pattern by Quilter’s Candy to bring it to life.
Why I Love the Cozy Bebe Collection
Cozy Bebe is a gentle, nostalgic collection that features a palette of dusty blue grey, soft blush, and gentle oatmeal. It’s ideal for baby quilts, nursery sewing, and projects that call for a softer touch.
Some of my favorite prints include:
- 🌙 Tiny starry skies that feel just right for bedtime
- 🐻 Sweet bears in overalls (a personal favorite that reminded me of my pup Corduroy and the classic storybook!)
- 🌸 Vintage florals that bring in a handmade, heirloom feel
The palette is cohesive and calming, but still playful. Perfect for mixing and matching or fussy cutting motifs.

The Front Porch Quilt
I wanted a quilt pattern that would highlight the sweetness of the fabric without overwhelming the prints, and the Front Porch Quilt fit the bill perfectly. It’s beginner friendly and quick to sew. Ideal if you’re on a timeline or want to sew up something heartfelt over a weekend.
The pattern uses 3D Flying Geese in place of the traditionally pieced Flying Geese blocks. If you haven’t used this historical technique before, it’s worth checking out.
The clean block layout gave each print its own moment to shine, while the consistent block sizing made for a relaxing piecing experience.

Quilting & Binding Details
I longarm quilted this piece using the Cottage Core pantograph by Sew Shabby Quilting. The airy, nature-inspired design adds just the right amount of texture without overpowering the gentle illustrations in the fabric.
Thread & Batting Details:
- Piecing & Binding: Aurifil 50 weight in Chalk (2026)
- Quilting Thread: Aurifil 40/3 weight in Dove (2600)
- Pantograph: Cottage Core by Sew Shabby Quilting
- Batting: Two layers of bamboo Quilter’s Dream Batting for a lofty, cloud-like finish
- Longarm Quilting: by me, Tamara Darragh of Remi Vail Studio, using a Juki J-350 QVP
For the binding I chose the Dashes print in light blue and love how it created such a soft frame.

Let’s Get Quilting!
This quilt was a joy to make from start to finish, and the Cozy Bebe fabric collection made it extra special. I’m using mine as a handmade heirloom baby gift. I love imagining this sweet quilt becoming a part of a child’s special story.
I hope this project inspires you to create your own quilt. For more quilting tutorials, quilt and bag patterns, and sewing inspiration, come visit my website at Remi Vail Studio or connect with me over on Instagram @RemiVailStudio.
