Sew Along With Us: The Sewing Room Block Event
Calling all Foundation Paper Piecing lovers! Get ready to fill your sewing room with a little more creativity, inspiration, and fun! Today I am sharing all about the Sewing Room Block Event, a FREE block event featuring nine different designers and a brand new block to stitch each day.
Update: This Sew Along is now closed.
Starting August 20th, you’ll be invited to join us as we share a new block each day, designed to celebrate all the little things that make our sewing spaces special.

Nine Designers. Nine Blocks. One Fun Sewing Event!
The event includes nine designers, each with their own unique style and take on the sewing room theme. Every block is made through Foundation Paper Piecing. If you are brand new to FPP, this is a great time to learn and grow your skills! Throughout the event, you’ll get to discover a new block from a different designer and add it to your growing collection.
From sewing machines and notions to all those little details that make a sewing room feel like home, these blocks are designed to be mixed, matched, and made your own.
And the best part?
The event is completely FREE!
There’s no need to purchase anything to participate. Just sign up using this link, follow along each day, download your block, and start sewing!
The Designers include:
Kristy – Quiet Play
Sam – Hunter’s Design Studio
Ingrid – Joe June and Mae
Rosie – Rosie Taylor Crafts
Liza – Liza Taylor Handmade
Amber – Alderwood Studio
Sheri – Whole Circle Studio
Satomi – Satomi Quilts
Sasha – Sashas Quilts
Join us here!

How Does the Sewing Room Block Event Work?
Starting August 20th, a new block will be emailed to you each day.
You can sew along each day or save the blocks and work on them whenever you have time. There’s no pressure to keep up, we’re just happy to have you join us!
You can make the blocks exactly as designed, choose fabrics that coordinate with one another, or let your personality shine and create a colorful, scrappy sewing room of your dreams.
I used Confetti Cottons™️ Solids to make mine, and love how playful all of the colors are together. The colors I used are:
Mellow Rose, Riley Coral, Frosting, Marigold, Citron, Hint of Mint, Forget-Me-Not, Crocus, Salmon, Daisy, and Lipstick.

Gather Your Favorite Fabrics & Sew Along!
This is the perfect excuse to dig through your fabric stash and pull out some of your favorite prints. Whether you love a beautifully coordinated color palette or prefer a scrappy mix of everything you love, these blocks are a great way to get creative.
We can’t wait to see all of the different versions you make!
So mark your calendar for August 20th, grab your favorite sewing supplies, and get ready to sew along with us.
Sign up here and let’s sew together!

What a shame. I received the email about the foundation paper piecing today 2nd September inviting me to sign up. When I tried to do so I was told the sewing room is closed!? Why send an email when an event has passed?
Rebecca Huffman
I would love to participate in the The Sewing Room Block Event but, it says it’s now closed. Is there any way you can offer it again, especially since it was free.

I am struggling to sign up–the page linked does not have a sign up link, and when I try to create a membership, this specific sew-along is not listed. Help?

Maybe you should take the Sewing Room Block Event off the website and emails links since it’s closed?
I just tried to sign up (yes I know I’m late-I had some life things going on) but it says it’s closed and won’t take anyone. I’m disappointed but in this case it couldn’t be helped.
Thank you.

why are you sending out something about this when it says on your site it is closed??
I wanted to join and am very disappointed that I can’t and never got a note for this originally!
Please reopen it and allow others to join since this was an error on your part. If it was free, does it really matter how many people sign up?

I just got the email now and I went to sign up and it said it’s closed. If it’s free why is there a limit on the program.
Sally Barley
Wow! I would have loved to have signed up for this event if it had been sent out in an earlier email. This email was dated September 2nd.
As you can see from the many other comments, a lot of people didn’t receive it either. Maybe you can make the videos and downloads available for those (a lot of us) that weren’t able to sign up for the class? I’m sure we’d all appreciate it, I know I would. Thanks 😊
Sandy Wells
I received the email announcing the Sew Along long after it started and was signups were already closed. Can you please publish a link where the Sew Along projects can be obtained?
