Little Skipper Quilt with Cozy Bebe

Hi friends, it’s Sandy from Thai Charm LLC here! I’m so excited to introduce you to the Little Skipper Quilt, a sweet and breezy sailboat quilt that feels like childhood daydreams stitched into fabric. Inspired by tiny adventures and big imaginations, this quilt is perfect for little ones who are ready to set sail on new journeys (even if it’s just from crib to couch).

While designing this quilt with the Cozy Bebe fabric collection by Simple Simon & Company, I kept thinking about the beloved children’s novel “The Little Prince”. That gentle, imaginative story captures the heart of childhood so beautifully, and I wanted this quilt to do the same. It feels like a little fabric adventure, stitched with wonder and curiosity.

This design uses strip piecing and simple squares, making it a fun and approachable project for all skill levels. It’s also perfect for fussy cutting your favorite prints, so you can tuck in little surprises like animals, stars, or storybook characters to make each quilt feel extra personal.

For the quilting, I chose gentle wavy lines across the quilt to reflect the look of ocean waves. Because why not, right? It adds just the right movement and texture to bring those little sailboats to life. Grab your sailboat blocks here and let your creativity set sail.

The layout is totally random, and that’s part of the fun. You can play around and customize the design to match whatever your heart desires. If you’d rather follow my exact layout, don’t worry.
