Celebrating the Rich Heritage of Quilting in New Mexico

Today we are delighted to share a recap of the 2024 ABQ Shop Hop! This event is a favorite for quilters in the area and we can’t wait for you to see these gorgeous quilts matching the 2024 theme. If you are in the Albuquerque area and missed this event, be sure to give all the participating shops a follow so that you can attend next year!

The ABQ Shop Hop has been an annual tradition that has grown to 10 shops around the Albuquerque metro area.  Each year, the shops select a theme for the event – the 2024 theme was “Enchanting”, celebrating some unique and vibrant aspects of New Mexico – the Land of Enchantment.  

All shops created a custom-designed quilt block that supports the theme – these designs remained a mystery until just a couple days before the event. Isn’t that fun?! Check out these stunning block designs above.

Each shop also designed a custom setting kit to unify the 10 blocks into a quilt, as well as some fun projects.  These patterns and kits are all available for sale directly from each shop – a gallery and links to our are provided on a shared landing page.

The 2024 Event

This year had a great turnout – over 300 customers participated in the shop hop, and were entered into prize drawings for visiting all 10 shops – gift cards and gift baskets donated by each shop, plus a couple of industry-sponsored baskets! Who doesn’t love a prize?
