Sparkler Basics in The Patchwork Zippie

Hey hey! It’s Sarah of Sarah Jean Makes and I’ve had the most fun creating with these vibrant Sparkler fabrics by Melissa Mortenson! I tend to be a simple style kind of maker, leaning into easy blenders in my creations. The Sparkler basics are just what I look for when selecting fabrics with a little bit of interest and lots of bold color. I chose a rainbow palette to make some simple “Patchwork Zippie” pouches, including colors Cayenne, Pumpkin, Beehive, Riley Green, Bear Lake, Orchid, and White. Each of these colors has a tiny bit of metallic shimmer in the star design and I love how they catch the light!

I opted to make three sizes for my Zippie pouches so that they can all nest inside one another. I found that when I head out of my home to do some work, whether it’s writing new patterns or going to the local quilting studio to get some focused sew time, I need a lot of little bags to carry all of my necessities. These varied sizes work perfectly for my laptop, my notebooks and design pads, and all of my tiny notions. It’s the perfect set!

The Patchwork Zippie pouches are self drafted and may find their way out of the Sarah Jean Makes vault to become a pattern! Be sure to follow me on Instagram to keep up to date on all things quilty!
