She is inspired by the hawk that has built a nest in a giant cottonwood tree Melisa walks by several times a week. This is an especially fun block to make because the applique is easy, but it is an ideal design to allow free motion quilting to add texture and interest.⁠ ⁠ You can find a link to the kits and a video tutorial on raw edge applique on our blog!
