Combining two new batik collections, Kelly @bykell Combining two new batik collections, Kelly @bykellyrenay is back on the blog with her twist on the Classic String Quilt! 💛⁠ ⁠ Inspired by Mary Ellen Hopkins’ Hidden Wells pattern, Kelly worked with 2″ wide strips from both the Porcelains and Wildflowers collections. Porcelains is a lovely low-volume mix of tonals: subtle, soft, and versatile. Wildflowers, on the other hand, feels like two collections in one: a cool, mauvy side and a warm, golden side. Toni @tigertextiles used our new Shibori Batiks to Toni @tigertextiles used our new Shibori Batiks to craft this beautiful Boro Boro Shirt! 👚⁠ ⁠ Boro is a Japanese textile tradition born of thrift and care—old cloth repaired again and again with visible stitching, patching, and layering. Scraps of fabric are transformed into something stronger, more beautiful, and deeply personal. Toni used this technique, along with a now-discontinued Butterick Pattern to build this shirt.
