The Nutcracker is dressed in a classic holiday uniform featuring a detailed jacket, tall hat, boots, beard, and mustache. Every element was thoughtfully designed to capture the charm and elegance of this much-loved Christmas character.

Made using fabrics from my Nutcracker Tradition collection for Riley Blake Designs, the finished doll has a timeless Christmas feel that looks beautiful displayed throughout the holiday season or gifted as a handmade keepsake.

Two Ways to Create Your Nutcracker

One of my favorite things about this pattern is that you can choose the construction method that best fits your sewing style.

Machine Embroidery Version

The in-the-hoop version is available in three finished sizes:

• 14″
• 16″
• 18″

with files included for 5×7, 6×10, and 8×12 hoops, allowing you to choose the size that works best for your embroidery machine.

This version combines machine embroidery with simple sewing techniques to create the doll’s embroidered face, detailed uniform, hat, beard, and finishing details.

Sewing & Hand Embroidery Version

If you enjoy traditional doll making, the Nutcracker is also available as a 16-inch sewing and hand embroidery pattern.

This version allows you to enjoy the process of stitching each piece together while adding hand embroidered details that give the doll its own unique personality.
