Champagne Baby Quilt in RBD Basics

Over the last few months on our social media we’ve been sharing videos of the making of this fun baby quilt! Today on the blog we are sharing the final project and a much requested list of the fabrics used.

The Fabric Selection

I knew the colors I wanted for this quilt. Greens, yellows, & blues. I started by finding the perfect background fabric from my stash and built the rest of my blocks with RBD Basics! The background fabric is Lori Holt Pin Dot in Denim. After I chose my background I made selections for the little squares that go all around the blocks, the Irish chain part. I chose Confetti Cottons™️ in Blueberry and Beehive.

After that, I made selections for my first block, made the test block, and then made the selections for all the other blocks by pulling from my stash!

List of Fabrics

All the fabrics in this quilt are Riley Blake Designs basics, except for one! I used a darling plaid from Jill Howarth’s 100 Aker Woods collection. It’s the yellow and white large scale plaid. Here is the list of the rest of the fabrics!

The Final Quilt

You may notice, my Irish chain design doesn’t follow the pattern directions. When I made my first block I accidentally turned those four corner blocks the wrong way. I was going to pick them out and re-stitch but decided I liked the look and it was a good lesson for me that my quilts don’t have to be “perfect”.
