August Designer Collection Preview

We love this line up of collections arriving in shops this month! Check out all the new lines from some of your favorite RBD designers and be sure to browse the storyboards for all of the coordinating projects, free patterns, and more!

Before the Bloom

Dear Sweethearts young and old, welcoming new babies or new life inspiring creativity. This collection by American Jane is reminiscent of those vintage fabrics that you wish you could have all of. Florals large, medium and small, calico with grids or free flowing random entertaining. Then with a dash of plaids and a sprinkle of stardust you have all the ingredients for something old and new, to touch dear hearts and make something sweet. So you can treat yourself or a dear somebody.

Foxglove

Last spring I added foxglove plants to my front flower bed. They are so sweet! Beautiful blooms all summer long, and bonus – the deer won’t touch them! I wanted to find some traditional flowers that add a cottage feel to my garden, and foxglove was the perfect addition. It was nice to have the variety in size and shape of the blossoms, and these are important features in quilting, too. Giving your quilts variety in the prints using color, style, and scale will add movement, texture and depth to your projects. Lil’ Farm Friends

This cute Lil’ Farm Friends collection is full of sweet little farm animals, a tiny farmscape, and a collection of pretty farm things. It’s inspired by the farm and field of sunflowers that I am lucky enough to pass by on my morning walks with my children. Whenever we walk the neighborhood loop we always have to stop by the farm to check on the animals. My two year old loves the cows and ducks and it’s especially fun to stop in the springtime when there is a collection of baby animals. The pretty buttery yellow, lake blue, soft cream, grassy green and rich reds I used in this collection hearken to more traditional farm colors.
