Morning Latte Collection + The New Light Quilt

Nostalgic Quilt Patterns
Heart Quilts made with Love
Sandy Gervais’ Morning Latte fabric collection is cozy and full of charm. Warm neutrals, soft florals, and comforting motifs give these prints a calm, timeless feel. They’re perfect for quilts that feel welcoming and beautifully lived-in.

Big, easy curves paired with alternating hearts create pure quilty magic in the New Light Quilt.
Let’s Make a New Light Block
Flower Units

The New Light Quilt features curved pieces that make up whimsical flowers with dainty heart centers. I like to complete the curved piecing first. The throw size New Light pattern showcases six different prints that make up the Flower Units.

When sewing your Flower Units, I find pinning your centers is all that is required. This will allow you to slowly sew a 1/4″ seam following the line of the curve. Use your fingers to gently guide the fabric, making sure the edges stay lined up.

Heart Center Units
You will start by making your HSTs. Use the pattern to transform your HSTs into Hour Glass blocks and save big on time.

The Hour Glass Unit becomes the center of the block, where each heart meets.

Leaf Units
Using the 8 at a time HST method, these corner units sew up quickly!

Put it all together…

Mix and match prints to create beautiful contrast and irresistible scrappy vibes.

Designed to highlight your favorite prints, the New Light Quilt is a pattern you’ll return to again and again.
