Sew in Love Panel Quilt
There’s something extra special about sewing with a fabric collection that celebrates the very heart of our craft, and Riley Blake Designs’ new Sew in Love collection does exactly that. The moment I saw the adorable quilt panel—filled with sweet sewing notions, florals, hearts, and that charming “I Love You Sew Much” sentiment—I knew I wanted to build a project that framed this eye–catching panel.

For this quilt, I started with the Reversal pattern from Quilting Renditions, but modified it to include the 8 “cheater” blocks that line the top and bottom of the panel. The pattern’s big, graphic angles are perfect for creating movement around a central design, the panel, and it was fun to adjust the layout for a more custom look.

The prints in Sew in Love feel like a love letter to makers—tiny tossed notions, sweet blossoms, gingham, tone-on-tone hearts, and the prettiest mix of pinks and reds. They pair beautifully together, which made planning the borders and angles an absolute dream. I especially enjoyed incorporating the little pieced hearts into the corners—they echo the theme of the panel and tie the whole quilt together with a soft, romantic touch.

Because the fabrics coordinate so seamlessly, it was easy to create contrast where I needed it and blend sections where I wanted a softer transition. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced quilter, this collection is incredibly user-friendly.

The star of this quilt is the Sew in Love panel. I love panels that feel charming but still modern, and this one checks both boxes. The playful illustrations—thread spools, scissors, pins, roses, buttons, and a cute tomato pincushion—give the panel such personality. It’s large enough to make a beautiful statement on its own, and framing it with oversized angles truly brings it to life.

The finished quilt is bright, happy, and full of that handmade-with-love energy. Whether hung in a sewing room, given as a gift to a fellow maker, or used as a cozy throw, it’s the kind of project that sparks joy every time you look at it.
Working with Sew in Love has been such a treat, and I can’t wait to use more of this collection in future projects. If you love sewing-themed fabrics or you enjoy panel quilts that come together beautifully, this line is definitely one to add to your stash.
Thank you, Riley Blake Designs, for creating another collection that celebrates the creative spirit in all of us!
