Plaid-Venture Club- Dog Bandana and Bed
Hi Makers! It’s Sara from @SaraBQuilts here to talk about my new puppy, Duncan, and Riley Blake Design’s new collection, Plaid-Venture Club! In late August I convinced my husband we needed to add a fourth dog to our pack. We got Duncan at our local shelter because no one else wanted to adopt him. He is an Australian Cattle Dog and Pit Bull mix, with one white eye and one half brown/half white eye. We love him so much!

With so many dog brothers and sisters that came before him, Duncan does not have a lot of new puppy items. He just uses a lot of pink hand-me-downs that are very worn out. When I saw Plaid-Venture Club, I knew it was a chance to make him some things that were fresh and new and ready to be loved by this sweet boy.
Plaid-Venture Club is a fabulous collection of blues and greens and browns. If you have a hunter, fisherman, or outdoorsy person in your life, this is the collection to work with! I chose to focus on the greens and blues of this collection for my projects because they worked beautifully with the colors in our home.

My first project was a self-drafted bandana to tie around his neck. I cut out a piece of Fisher in Blue fabric and the Pointers in Forest and sewed them up into this fast and cute project. Duncan seemed so proud to wear his new bandana!

For my second project, I wanted to make a dog bed cover that I could easily take off and wash. I used the Camper in Navy fabric as the base and binding fabric, and then made a patchwork top using the various other Plaid-Venture Club fabrics.

This is such a classic, sophisticated collection and I hope to use my leftover fabric to make a quilt someday soon! I hope you love Plaid-venture Club as much as I do.
Happy making!
