Me-Made in Minutes: The Easy Saundra Skirt in Genesis of a Journey
Hello, Friends! It’s Sandy from Thai Charm here. I’m so excited to share my latest me-made project, the Saundra Skirt featuring Genesis of a Journey with a touch of Blossom, a basic collection from Riley Blake Designs. This version includes a soft godet detail that adds a playful flare at the hem, perfect for twirling around.

Fabric That Inspires Movement
The Genesis of a Journey collection by Genesis Hall celebrates exploration, connection, and creativity. I chose two prints from the line that feel calm and grounded, then added Blossom in Wisteria to help the prints stand out. Together, these fabrics create the perfect balance of texture, color, and flow. They’re soft, easy to sew, and have just the right drape for apparel projects.

A Simple Skirt with a Twist
The Saundra Skirt by Syd Graham Patterns is an easy pull-on style that’s fun to sew and even more fun to wear. The godet panel adds a gentle flare, making it flattering, comfortable, and full of movement. The elastic waistband keeps the fit simple, while the design leaves plenty of room to play with fabric combinations. You can use one print for a classic look or mix coordinating fabrics for something more creative. Either way, it’s a quick, satisfying make that feels as joyful as it looks.

This project is great for beginners or anyone looking for a relaxing weekend sew. Pair it with a simple tee, a denim jacket, or a cozy sweater, and you’ll have a handmade skirt that works for every season.
