Sweet Cotton Tales Tells Its Sweetest Story in the Mabel Quilt

Hello, Friends! It’s Sandy from Thai Charm here. Today I am so excited to share a quilt that feels like it stepped right out of a storybook. Using the whimsical Sweet Cotton Tales collection from Riley Blake Designs, I combined two favorite block patterns from my shop, the Mabel heart block and the Windflower bloom block, to create what I’m calling the Mabel Quilt. The soft prints, gentle curves, and heart shapes all come together to tell the sweetest little tale across the quilt top.

Meet the Mabel Quilt

The Mabel Quilt is a cozy 72″ square throw, perfect for snuggling on the couch or adding a soft layer at the end of a bed. The name Mabel felt right for this quilt with its gentle hearts and blooming curves, a design that feels soft and lovable.

Block Details

Sweet Cotton Tales is such a charming collection. The soft colors and darling prints bring a nostalgic touch that pairs beautifully with both blocks.Here is what I used:

• Sweetheart Block (coming soon)
A gentle split heart design that creates movement and contrast.

• Windflower Block
A curved floral block that adds a sweet blooming moment.

Combining these two blocks gives the quilt personality without feeling busy. The hearts bring warmth and structure, while the Windflower blocks soften everything with their curved petals. Sweet Cotton Tales ties the layout together with a soft and inviting finish.

I love quilts that let different blocks work together. The Mabel hearts add a sweet graphic touch and the Windflower blocks introduce gentle curves.
