Vera’s Garden – Pretty Train Case

Hello Quilty Friends, its Rachel from Stitch With Rachel.
I have always wanted to make a train case as they make a fabulous storage option around the home, so when I saw the gorgeous border print in the Vera’s Garden collection, I just knew!

The pattern that I chose is the Box for Many things which can be purhcased here. I wanted to make sure I had a full repeat of the border print so I extended my bag in height and the pattern has full instructions on how to do this.

I paired this with the other purple prints in the collection, alongside a gold zipper for the outside and a lilac on one the inside pocket. The pattern suggests using mesh for the inside pocket but I didn’t have any that matched the colours so I used an old organza bag that was stuffed into one of my drawers – just be careful not to iron it!

And look how perfect this is for fabric storage! Although I think I am actually going to use it for toiletries as it is the perfect height for shampoo bottles. I just love scattering quilty makes around my home and using them everyday.

I hope I have inspired you to use your hero prints in different ways.
