Zelda Quilt in Polka Pop Batiks
Some quilts just make you smile the whole way through the process, and this was one of those projects for me. The Zelda Quilt Pattern by Erica Jackman paired with Polka Pop Batiks turned out even more vibrant and joyful than I imagined!

From the moment I started cutting into the Polka Pop Batiks, I knew this quilt would have a personality of its own. The bold dots scattered across such bright colors made each star block feel like it was bursting with energy. I loved watching how the reds, purples, greens, yellows, and blues all came together against the crisp white background—it’s a quilt that practically glows.

The Zelda pattern is one of those designs that feels familiar but fresh at the same time. The classic star block is comforting and timeless, but Erica’s layout really lets the fabric shine. I found myself getting into a rhythm with the piecing, and it was so satisfying to see each row of stars build into something bigger.

For the quilting, I sent the top to Warm River Quilt Co., and they did such a beautiful job. The gentle, flowing design stitched across the stars added movement without taking away from the bold fabrics. It’s always exciting to see how quilting brings a project to life, and this time it truly felt like the perfect finishing touch.

This quilt reminds me why I love making quilts so much. It’s colorful, playful, and full of joy—but also something practical and lasting that can be used and loved every day. Working on this project was a bright spot for me, and I hope the finished quilt brings that same happiness to anyone who sees it.
