Meadow Patch Quilt by Thai Charm

Blooming Meadow Patch with Honey Locust

Hi friends, it’s Sandy from Thai Charm LLC! I fell in love with the Honey Locust collection by Amber Johnson the moment I saw those sweet florals, and I knew I wanted to use as many prints as possible. So I made this version of my Meadow Patch Quilt in a blooming, floral-scrappy style with big blocks and a fun granny patch twist that really lets the fabric shine. It’s soft, fresh, and full of charm!

Now, I have to ask: Do you organize your fabrics into piles, or do you prefer choosing them as you go? I’ve usually leaned toward making one block at a time and letting the process unfold, but for this quilt, I tried laying everything out first. It made things go much faster and kept me focused, so it’s definitely something I’ll be doing more often.

If you’re curious about trying it, grouping your prints by color or value before sewing can really help streamline the process and keep everything balanced.

The scrappy version made the granny patch blocks feel extra fun, with each one looking a little different and full of its own charm.

I cut all of my pieces from advanced yardage, but the original pattern is written for one layer cake. So if you’re following the pattern, your version might look a little different depending on the mix of prints you use. Either way, it’s such a simple way to add personality to every block.

To finish it off, I used the gingham print in Jennifer Brown Sugar for the backing and a stripe binding in the sweetest teddy bear brown. The mix adds just the right touch of coziness and keeps the whole quilt feeling warm and playful from front to back.

For the quilting, I used the Magical Meadow pantograph by Sew Shabby Quilting. It’s the perfect blend of flowers and bubbles, adding just the right amount of texture and whimsy to this Meadow Patch Quilt. The soft curves complement the floral prints beautifully without taking away from the block design.

I hope you enjoy this scrappy Blooming Meadow Patch Quilt as much as I do! It was such a joy to put together, and I can’t wait to see your own versions.
