Hey Pumpkin Carnival Quilt

Halloween Carnival Vibes in Quilt Form šŸŽƒšŸ§”šŸ’–

There’s something magical about a Halloween quilt—especially one that breaks the mold. I had the absolute pleasure of working with Hey Pumpkin by My Mind’s Eye, a Halloween fabric line that adds a playful twist with shades of pink woven into the traditional orange and black palette. It’s a fresh take on spooky season, and I’m completely obsessed!

The pattern I used was designed by the incredibly talented Olivia Schofield of Warm River Quilt Co., and it was made for this fabric line. Bold, graphic, and full of movement, this quilt screams Halloween carnival fun. Can’t you just picture yourself strolling through a festive fairground, pinwheel in hand, wrapped in something cozy and colorful?

I was so excited to get cutting and sewing! Can you blame me?!

These blocks came together so quickly. The tips and tricks of putting them together in the pattern make them a breeze to sew up!

I didn’t take too many breaks while putting this quilt together because once I got in the zone I couldn’t stop sewing. When the pinwheels started coming together it was so fun to see all different fabric patterns work together. It was Halloween Magic!

This is only my third quilt quilted on my longarm, and while it’s not perfect, I’ve learned something so valuable along the way—a finished quilt is a perfect quilt. Those little quirks are part of the story, and I’m proud of every stitch. Come October, I’ll be curling up under this beauty, watching Hocus Pocus with a mug of cider in hand.

Although the design looks advanced, don’t let it fool you—it comes together quickly, thanks to the clear instructions and thoughtful tips Olivia includes in her pattern. Whether you’re a confident beginner or a seasoned quilter, this is a project you’ll love from first cut to final stitch.
